Ali Al Jassim, CEO of Etihad Energy Services and holder of both bachelors of science in Civil Engineering and Masters of business administration with honours, has 18 years of experience in leading roles delivering programs and projects. Ali held top positions in both public and private sector entities such as Head of follow-up and development office at the Dubai Municipality, Acting CEO & Director of Drivers Licensing at RTA and General Manager of Qeyadah Driving Solutions.

Kankana Dubey

Senior Research Associate, KAPSARC

Kankana Dubey is a senior research associate at KAPSARC working on energy productivity in the GCC and on macroeconomic perspective of energy and economic development in India.

Her work focuses on energy productivity, energy efficiency,  economic growth  and developing energy policy tool kits for government action particularly in the building sector.  Kankana has an M.Sc. in Energy Management from the University of Stirling, UK.

Maen Nimrawi

Senior Commissioning Engineer, KEO International Consultants

During his work experience in the Middle East, Al Nimrawi managed and led over 70 projects related to energy management, energy efficiency, green buildings and commissioning in the region. Licensed in multiple states across the U.S. and is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM®) as well as a Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP).

Maen Al-Nimrawi is now Projects Manager within The sustainability division of KEO Int.  Consultants; leading the sustainability/commissioning projects in the Gulf region by aligning the commissioning process to the best international standards and practices in this domain. Maen have facilitated a remarkable business growth since he joined the firm as part of his responsibilities for the business development of a specialized and top notch services in the market, represented in energy efficiency and management services and monitoring based commissioning as part of the digitization and internet of things (IoT); in lieu of developing business plans along with the tools, competencies and resources for executing and delivering such services in the region.

Maen represented KEO as a Chairman and Speaker in different conferences, forums and exhibitions within the region. In addition to effective participation through articles and extracts in different ruptured engineering magazines.

Before that Al-Nimrawi was managing the Energy Management Bureau at Schneider Electric, Saudi Arabia. In this role, he led the energy bureau team toward achieving of key business goals and sustainability initiatives, both locally and worldwide. The energy bureau – considered as a starting business - within 2 years generated a revenue of 2 million Saudi Riyals represented in energy management services along with over 20 million Saudi Riyals represented in energy management solutions.    

As part of the Schneider Electric corporate sustainability milestones; Maen have led the achievement of certifying Schneider Electric headquarter in Riyadh as the first ISO50001:2011 energy management system certified private building in the kingdom; in order to demonstrate the energy management services as a viable business model in the Saudi market along with marketing Schneider Electric Solution and competencies in this filed.

Prior to joining Schneider, Al-Nimrawi gained experience in performance contracting domain as Senior Energy Efficiency Auditor and LEED Project Manager at Energy Management Services International. He was instrumental in aligning benchmarks of electrical designs to international coding standards. He also researched, implemented and commissioned energy conservation projects, measures and strategies.

Ahmed Khoja (M.Sc. TUM)

Senior Researcher, Munich University of Applied Sciences (MUAS)

Ahmed is senior researcher and lecturer at the institute for building climatology at the Faculty of Architecture of Munich University of Applied Sciences. His research areas include Sustainable urban neighbourhoods, energy efficient retrofitting and zero energy developments.

During his carrier, Ahmed was involved in a number of national and international research projects, which focus on the smart, sustainable and energy efficient development of cities, urban districts and neighbourhoods. Ahmed also work a sustainability consultant and was involved in assessing the sustainability performance of some innovative projects, such as the Allianz Campus in Munich (DGNB Platinum) , the REHAU head office in Vienna (DGNB Platinum) and the assessment of the sustainability performance of stadia for the 2018 and 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Ahmed is a certified Auditor for sustainable residential buildings, he holds Bachelor Degree in Architecture from King Abdul-Aziz University and Master’s Degree in Energy Efficient and Sustainable Construction from the Technical University of Munich, where he is also pursuing his Ph.D. degree under the supervision of Prof. Thomas Auer
