Ahmad Shtayya is the CEO at Radian Engineering Consultant with responsibility for the General Management Department. Prior to joining Radian, Ahmad Shtayya worked in Upper Management, Design and Supervision Department at several companies, including SHTAYYA-Sustainable Architecture, Khatib & Alami and Shadid Engineering Consultant. Notable is his 20 years as General Manager for SHTAYYA-Sustainable Architecture. Ahmad Shtayya received a bachelor’s degree in architecture from Al-Najah National University from 1999-2004.

Zaki Mohammed is a sustainability leader with almost two decades of experience in Sustainability, Energy Conservation, ESG, Research, Project Management and Business Consultancy Services. As the Director of Sustainability Advisory at the Gulf Organisation for Research & Development (GORD), he spearheads multidisciplinary teams, implementing innovative solutions for sustainable business practices. Zaki’s contribution has been instrumental in introducing forward-looking sustainability solutions for the built environment. He has played a key role in educating a broad audience on Energy Efficiency.

He has also been an active member in the development of an easy-to-understand model for net-zero construction and refurbishment via the ESCO model. Zaki is leading the development and management of Arcadia and Energia Suites, which are unique energy analysis platforms explicitly tailored for district cooling plants and buildings, respectively. Zaki received the Middle East's Energy Manager of the Year award from the Association of Energy Engineer (AEE) in 2022, highlighting his significant contributions to energy efficiency and decarbonization in the MENA region and beyond. Zaki holds several prestigious certifications, including CEM®, CMVP®, REP®, PMVA® and ISO 50001 Lead Auditor. Zaki is an accredited trainer for professional certification programs under AEE and the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) etc. He has delivered trainings to hundreds of candidates on sustainability and energy domains.

Waleed is a Seasoned Sustainability Activist, Top voice and regional sustainability leader and advocate with more than two decades of experience in Sustainability, Environmental, and Engineering strategic and project management across Middle East, Africa and Europe.

Waleed studied architectural engineering and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in the same field and a fellowship in sustainable development from SDW in Germany.

He holds numerous international professional accreditations and diverse experience in Giga projects with an impressive sustainability and environmental scope, including FIFA world cup 2022 stadiums.

At the current position and role, as Lead Sustainability Advisor and Design/Engineering Manager is shaped by a profound commitment to integrating sustainability into the architectural fabric.

With expertise honed in the field, he has been instrumental in leading the Sustainability Teams/firms and initiatives, where he spearheads sustainable initiatives and his efforts are reflected in projects that not only meet but surpass environmental benchmarks.

Hassan Younes is the Co – CEO & Founder of grfn, a multi-disciplinary consultancy and has over 18 years of extensive experience in the fields of Design, Energy Efficiency. Sustainability, and Project Execution and Management. Hassan has been involved in many high-end projects in the MENA region encompassing MEP designs, energy efficiency, commissioning management, sustainability and measurement and verification for new and existing buildings in the MENA region. He also was involved in energy and sustainability policy studies for many governmental entities in the GCC.  

He is a trainer for the ASHRAE Global Training Center.  He is a trainer for the Association of energy engineers’ Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and Certified Measurement Verification Professional (CMVP) courses and a trainer with EVO. Hassan is a voting member of the ASHRAE Global Technical Interaction Committee.

He is an appointed Consultant for ASHRAE 62.1 Standard and is a member of the certification board for the CMVP course.  Hassan contributed with a case study to ASHRAE district cooling guide 2^nd edition and one was of the reviewers of that publication.

Hassan is the chair of the industry advisory panel for the Architectural Engineering program of Heriot Watt university.

Hassan was the ASHRAE Falcon Chapter president and on the technical committee and was the Vice Chair of CIBSE Regional Chapter. Hassan holds all the ASHRAE certifications. 

Lindsey is the regional Sustainability Lead for global professional services consultancy Turner & Townsend in the Middle East. He is a Chartered Engineer with over 15 years of experience working in the built environment in the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific. This has given him a developed understanding of the local nuances that arise on projects, as well as the value of vernacular thinking and expertise. With a diverse background in energy and environmental analysis, sustainable design, and strategy development, Lindsey excels in client engagement, working closely to develop robust solutions and build lasting relationships. Lindsey previously worked on the development and implementation of the Estidama sustainable building design methodology following its 2010 launch, and also provided expert technical review and guidance for the energy strategy for the London 2012 Olympic Park, focusing on the transition from games to legacy. He has since assisted various authorities and developers in the creation and implementation of sustainability policies, as well as led the development of sustainable infrastructure solutions for a number of high-profile global masterplan developments.

Tala Kanso, Operations Manager and Technical Lead - Water & Energy at Egis holds a PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Paris, France. She has nearly 10 years of experience in the Middle East and Europe in the field of water, environment, sustainability, and energy.

Mario is Head of Sustainability MENA at Cundall, leading the company’s drive to meet increased demand for sustainable and net zero carbon solutions. With over 17 years of regional experience, Mario has a diverse background in low-to-zero carbon design and strategy development across a wide range of projects. Mario's ethos is based on having a tangible environmental impact, working closely with people to affect change and delivering creative and robust technical solutions.

Raj Chintakayal is the Director of Operations at SB Group International, where he leads initiatives in smart city solutions, connected buildings, and sustainability. With over a decade of experience in operations, he specializes in BMS, life safety, and predictive maintenance. His career spans roles in global sales, marketing, and business development, notably with Invendis Technologies and Al Futtaim Technologies. Raj holds an Executive MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics. Passionate about humanitarianism and traveling, he is committed to driving innovation and operational excellence.
